If someone robs a truck full of DSes and games and you buy it from them at a flea market, you are supporting someone by exchanging your money for handheld shit.

Despite the fact that no manufacturer will see a penny of the money, you are still supporting a market where the sale of handheld shit occurs. You give a message to other people that there are still idiots out there who want to buy handheld shit. Until you and everyone else stops doing this, the market will live. This market must die. So don't help it live.

Or at very least stop pretending to care about handheld shit existing if you're going to buy it anyway.

Fair enough. I'm so glad to read a reply with a shred of logic in it in this thread that I'll accept your point, dog$.

So are you going to buy this and SH Origins or aren't you?

  5. I understand and sympathize with both sides of the argument but I think Yoshi's crusade will only hurt him in the long run. If this is a good game on DS, and sells well, then I cant see Konami not trying to bring an iteration of it to next gen consoles at some point.
I mean, I see the result of Contra DS not selling well as leading to Konami thinking, "no one wants Contra, its past its prime, lets try out a new IP instead". I doubt they would think, "Contra DS isnt selling well, lets do Contra 360/PS3 instead"

But, thats just my opinion. Do we have any other proof in the industry to support either idea? Trauma Center was successful and made the leap to Wii (not next gen but still - and it is just a port - and I think it was brought to the Wii because of its game mechanics NOT from popularity). We still have yet to see Advance Wars, Phoenix Wright, or anything else make the jump to consloes from being successful. Were there any games/series that did horrible on DS and then were brought to a console instead?

Me personally, Ill support whatever game on whatever console if its a good game. Next gen or not. I wont sacrifice my having fun on a "portable system strike" unless I can be shown proof that it would make a difference. It wont just "die" out at this point. That wont happen unless the videogame industry as a whole crashes realistically.

There's next to no chance I am buying this. I haven't turned on my DS is months. SHO I won't buy until I finish Dracula X, and may take longer than my attention span for SHO, given how many console and PC games are getting play time over the PSP.

I understand your point, but where's the 2D console Castlevania then? We've had tons of portable ones that have sold, but that still hasn't happened. If the DS Contra selling will bring 3D console games of similar quality to the PS2 Castlevanias, that's even more reason to not buy it.

  8. For anyone who's actually playing the game:
Do you know how to beat the big fish boss at the end(?) of stage 5?
I can't even seem to hurt the thing no matter where I shoot it.

And if the DS Contra not selling means we'll get another Neo Contra instead of another one like this, I think I'm gonna buy 5 copies.

I know how to not buy Neo Contra, so if Konami continues to want to make stupid decisions, let them go bankrupt.
