The casting rumors for The First Avenger: Captain America just keep coming.

Now the word is that Channing Tatum, of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Dear John, has been approached by Marvel Studios and director Joe Johnston. He joins the latest group of actors in the mix, including Chris Evans, Mike Vogel, Garrett Hedlund and Wilson Bethel.

Meanwhile, the studio is also testing leads for the female role of Peggy. So far, they're looking at Keira Knightley, Alice Eve and Emily Blunt.

Heh. Whats interesting is that he came to the theater i work at one day and me and my boy mentioned the rumor of him doing cap. He has the bone structure but the not the acting chops. Seeing him G.I. Joe up the movie would be atrocious.

AICN is reporting that Marvel has officially offered the role of Cap to Chris Evans (AKA The Human Torch from the shitty FF movies). He has yet to accept, however.

I've seen the Evans in non-FF movies and he's actually pretty decent actor. He kinda reminds me of Ryan Reynolds, only less gay. He was probably the only actor I didn't mind in the FF movies, either- loads better than Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis (actually, he was okay), or whoever that that boring faggot was who played Mr. Fantastic. He has the right look and build for the part, too. I think I'd be totally cool with Evans as Cap.

No No. This morning it was reported by First Showing that Channing Tatum was offered a contract. The rumor I reported was he went to read for the part.
