Their Green Arrow show sounds like the best thing they've got going and I couldn't get through five minutes of it.

ANYHOW. The fight choreography in this was really good. Charging Star vs Mini Gun was a lot of fun.

Deputy Shieldbro Vs The Cold Bullet. Arrow is BAD in the first few episodes, it shines in the back 13 and 2nd Season. I can totally see somebody tuning it out after the first few though.

I'm not going to white knight superhero movies, but Winter Soldier doesn't end with a "We Did It!" ending though. Shit's fucked.

I've come to the conclusion that some of you guys are never going to be satisfied with what these movies are. They could secretly redo Macbeth and you'd still be bitching.

All i ask is, dont be dumb.
It's a fucking comic book. Not one one other genre of film gets as much leeway when it comes to suspension of disbelief.
It is a given that some fantastical shit is going to going down. Yet the average comic book film manages to rip through all that good will within the first act.
They demand you dumb yourself down to the point that you walk out of a two hour long fireworks show deadened so much by the loud bangs and bright flashes that you dont realize the story was shit, the acting was shit, and the entire experience was ultimately an empty one.
But shit blowed up real good! Seriously dude, the sixth time the helicarrier got taken out was totally the best.
Oh wait, not even that is a given. Special effects can go from looking like next gen cg to stop motion light bright in the same fucking shot.
I am not asking for Macbeth. I do demand better than an 80s cartoon.

The status quo has pretty much been established as far as comic book movies go; anyone with a brain knows if they like the genre or not by this point. Coming into every comic book movie thread and bitching that the movies are "bad" seemingly over and over is pretty stupid and pretentious. As you said, they're "comic book movies." As in based on comic books. You can't say these aren't accurate reflections of their source material. It's like complaining that there's too much kicking in a Kung-Fu movie. Either you like them or you don't, stop bitching and move on.

BTW, not defending the genre; I understand it's not high art. But they are fun and enjoyable action flicks, for the most part.

Don't really get the hate. I've been reading comic books since the 70's and this film is true to those roots. What exactly are you expecting? Of course it's going to be dumbed down a little so the casual (ie... non comic book reading fan who doesn't know who Hydra is or who the Winter Soldier was) moviegoer can follow along. For what the script was, I thought the acting was actually pretty good.

So if I just read a synopsis of the first ten episodes and then started watching would I be okay? I hate slogging through bad TV but I'd be willing to give it a shot.
