Which is a weird path to go down, considering they retconned that shit the year after when it made Spidey stories too hard to write.
They've got Punisher back and they're developing the street level kids with the Netflix deal.
That said, Spider-Man is a pretty big component of Civil War, which might explain the recent rumors about Sony playing ball w/ Marvel.

Yeah, those rumors have been flying around again as of late, especially after Amazing Spider-Man 2 under-performed. I think Marvel should just get Disney to offer Sony a cool billion just to buy the rights back outright. Spidey would eventually make that back for them plus interest.
Then reboot without an origin movie (I mean, everyone knows his deal by now, just drop Spidey into the mix) and cast a new actor who won't already be in his mid-30's when the next movie comes out. I mean, he's still supposed to be a fucking teenager.

They're returning to a bunch of old stories. It looks like it's all tied into the new Secret Wars, and that they're all multiverse versions of those stories.
