Thread: Qui-Gon back in episode 3??

  1. Qui-Gon back in episode 3??

I'm trying to discuss this with someone I work with, but there's this book that tells about his capture before the events of Phantom Menace and it had to do with how the Jedi were being experimented on. My guess is that when he died in episode 1, it's possible that he may have been a clone and was monitored to see if his progress shows no signs of difference between that of the original and the clone (with the jedi being the perfect opportunnity).
Now say episode 3 comes along, the clone army is taking back control of the galaxy for the old republic and somehow, we see him again, but he doesn't recollect any of the events that happened up to PM becuase he wasn't there. Now I'm certain this would make a very interesting and complex story twist, but I'm certain it'll also lead to the destruction of the clone-labs becuase in episodes 4-6, the empire needed people enlisted to join the empire.

this is all just speculation, but I'll be shocked to see how close I am if this gets to be part of the story.
don't wanna tangle with you, I'd rather tangle with him.
I think I'm gonna bash his head in...

  2. at times like this I turn to Office Space.

    *ahem*

"That's the worst idea I've ever heard"
    "Yes... that is terrible"

  3. so in otherwords I wasted time here, is that what you're saying?

  4. Well, it sounds good to me. But Star Wars in whole has really just gone down the poop-shoot. After Ep I there was talk of Darth Maul returning in Ep 2, and I was the only person I knew who thought that was a lame idea. If a character dies, he should stay dead. Qui-Gon coming back, though a good idea, and a potential plot device, would thoroughly piss me off.

  5. Well, The only way the can have him back, is as one of those Blue Ghosts like Obi-one, Yoda and Anaking become in the in original trilogy. But I always thought it was a lame idea I just can imagine Luke, and his trio of blue ghosts living the every day life

  6. If by "a book" you mean one of the many Star Wars novels, those are usually just what that particular author thinks, and george lucas rarely uses what they want since he has HIS idea of the story. A good example was that in one of the novels that supposedly took place between Episodes 1 and 2, Jar Jar Binks died. As we all saw, this was not the case.

No, it's not that. It's just that.... it was the worse plot device I've ever heard. If that I happend I would cry and murder those who made the move, acted it out, thought the idea was good, even if the thought ran through their puny little mind I would crush them swiftly.

Er... sorry, I've been reading too much of Darth Maul's journal.... the dark side is getting to me...

  8. oh ok, I see you're point.

Now that whole Darth Maul cloning idea I think was brought up by some fan who just wanted to see him back after the film first made it into theaters. Even through I do like the idea of having Qui-Gon cloned, It'll be fitting if he was aimed at taking out Count Doku (who was originally Qui-Gon's master from what I'm hearing)

  9. Personally, I LOVE the idea of a Qui-Gon clone... but a darksider. Not sure how to use it in the story, but it's a badass concept IMO..

Well, according to the books, Boba Fett didn't die. Why? Because all the Star Wars fanboys want to see lame characters return for some reason or another, although thankfully Qui-Gon wasn't nearly as stupid a character as Boba Fett. I wouldn't count on it happening.
