Thread: Sid Meier's Civilization: Revolution

  1. I actually dont think K&M would really help this game, as it works perfectly with the 360 controller. I really wish they would make the multi less buggy and shitty.

No, what I mean is, there are minimal options under Diplomacy. I play on Diety (CPU Cheats) and it's R1 for the PS3, but you basically have:

    Sell a tech/buy a tech.
    Declare War.
    Nothing.
    Ask advisors.

If there is an option for "Give me this tech or I fuck you up" when not at war, which the CPU does all the time on Diety, I can't find it. Even when in war the options are limited.

Talk to them during a war and you've got:
    Let's make peace.
Fight till the end. (Sometimes they will counter offer with money for peace, though I've never seen them offer more than 25 gold).
Give me this or else. (and you can't even pick what you want from them)

I've only gotten this a hand full of times, I'm not really sure what triggers it.

For reals, many a battle was lost where I was 11 points or more over the enemy forces and was still wiped out. And you can throw in the inevitable "pikemen beat tanks lols" comment, I know this shit is in every civ, but christ it gets insane.

The CPU cheats in every Civ game if you play any higher than Noble/King. The AI doesn't get any smarter beyond that level. It just gets production advantages.

What irritates me about the AI in Civilization Revolution is that it seems to go after the player and only the player. It's rare to see it ever attack another AI opponent.

They attack you even when you aren't a threat, the Russians are about to lift off and I'm struggling with gun powder but they see fit to all attack me.

  6. If you play on Diety, you have to rape the first person you find. Whoever it is, go after them with all you've got. At least that way you've only got 3 v 1 afterwards.

I just finished the Game of the Week on Diety. Domination victory is the way to go.

Domination or science is really the only path, economic is pretty much impossible on diety.

You could do any this week, it's easy to block in 3 of the 4 AI's, and the French have a serious choke point.
Greece is most likely blocked in by you and the Aztecs, leaving only the capital (which, if you build up your city and flip the Aztec one, then focus on culture will neuter them).
Aztecs can only build close to you so you can flip them, or just attack the archers when they roll out with settlers, then they won't expand at all.
Germany is like the Aztecs, easy to capture settlers (then push for peace).
France is farthest away, but expands too slowly and you can choke them out (on a hill, no less).

Even with a lot of islands, the AI doesn't seem to interested in making cities out there. Domination just takes the least amount of time.

  9. I was talking more in general not just for that match.
