I've been putting off playing RE4 since it came out for the GC and was considering picking it up sooner or later for the GCN or PS2 soon... but the Wii version is really that good, eh? Should this now be considered the "definite" version of RE4?

Absolutely. As Yoshi said it's got the graphics of the Cube version and the extras of the PS2 version, plus the new Wii control scheme. After popping two Ganados heads on opposite sides of the screen in a split-second with pinpoint accuracy you'll never want to go back to playing shooters with dual analog.

Toshiden did look awesome but yeah, gameplay-wise it was no substitute for VF or Tekken. I got my PS1 in 1995 and would play the Toshinden demo but never felt it was worth buying the game.

I can't even think of touching Toshinden again today. I admit to being blown away by it at first, but it hasn't aged well- in fact, it got stale like a day-old donut the second Capcom started putting 2D fighters on Saturn. The borked PS version of KOF'95 (with cut animation frames and lobotomized AI) is almost better than Toshinden.

Any Capcom or SNK fighter on Saturn kills Toshinden easily.
