Thread: R.I.P. Tips & Tricks

  1. I used to grab the issue a few times just to see what's new on the arcade scene, but they really cut down on that and it's a futile point when the industry is pretty much dead anywhere you turn to.

Both he and Francesca Reyes, worked for that magazine. I don't recall what magazine Bill moved onto, but Francesca became part of ODCM.

Bill had his moments, but I really didn't care for the adolescent humor offered in Game Players. If videogames were to be taken as more than kid's play, magazines like GP weren't doing anything to change that image; while Next Gen did more than it's share of trying to break videogames out of that stereotype.

  3. I remember how much I was into that one until they decided the preview disks wern't worth it... few months later it bombed.

  4. Lol @ magazines.

  6. The internet can hold more content and deliver it faster than any magazine. Magazines are still more fun to read.

If Tips & Tricks and dumped the tips & tricks, it would have been a great magazine. As it is, too much of it was waste space for me to justify buying it.

Lies! You can't type back at a magazine.

Bill has been with PSM for a really long time, since it's debut I think. A lot of the Game Player's staff went over to PSM, but I think Bill is all that's left of them.

  10. I think UGP had half their focus around the staff aside from gaming. One of their cd's showed what the whole place looked like and Bill was drunk while sleeping on his desk the whole time. He had a nice puddle going.
