Thread: R.I.P. Tips & Tricks

  1. #21
This makes me sad. I'll have to pick up the final issue, my subscription ran out a few months ago.

  2. Tips and Tricks was bad ass back when

    a. I didn't know any better.
    b. Gamefaqs didn't exist for cheats and guides.
    c. They covered hard core fighting game tournaments monthly.

Still sad to see a publication that old go under. I bought an issue like 10 years ago that had Sakura from SFA2 on the cover.

  3. I'm suprised Tips And Tricks lasted as long as it did. I was in a book store recently and was shocked to see a copy on the shelf. But yeah, with Gamefaqs the mag had no use any more.

And Larry Flint published that mag? Heh.

Is that the one where she's squatting with one leg extended and her hands out in front of her, fingers laced together? I have that one somewhere.

I like Tips and Tricks. It had neat little articles.

  5. The Collector's Closet was cool when it was done by Joe from Digital Press, and there were some really cool articles in there. I agree that they should have ditched the codes and stuff, but Flint reportedly didn't want to hear any of it and was hell-bent on killing the mag.

  6. Maybe he's willing to start a new one?

  8. Nice...

Anyway, I was always suprised to see it on shelves for about 10 years longer than it should have been. I'd buy it once in a while for a decent article here and there. They should've either changed with the times and focused on something else besides codes and stuff. Perhaps went retro or collector based.
