Report: PS3 $499 on July 12

No absolutely not, but I'm just saying this generation may or may not be the worst generation, I wouldn't count it out just yet.

Well, I never said it was the WORST generation, just the most underwhelming one. I mean, whenever a new console comes out you'll take a look at the pretty launch titles and kinda come away impressed. But with the PS3, so far nothing's wowed me. Shit, I can't even see the PS3 competing with PCs in a year or two, graphically.

But in the end, the quality of the games will decide if it's the worst generation.

This fall will see the real games I think. I don't see how anyone could look at the new Ratchet and Clank game and Uncharted and not see an incredible difference (people that have been playing Liar say it's a great showcase too). You could put Heavenly Sword in there two but the gameplay looks like it won't stand up.

The wind up for the PS3 is taking forever, but it is coming. The combination of needing real talent, the money and the time makes a steep cliff to put out a bad ass PS3 game.
