Thread: I made a web show

  1. They kinda sound like cartoon characters. Not really my thing.

    Anyway, I'm still learning. Except for the writing, I didn't have any experience going into this, and it'll be a few eps before I get the delivery down. The dry deadpan's not likely going anywhere, but I'll try to sell it better in the future.

    Speak from your diaphragm. Your voice will "catch" alot less that way. Treat your lungs like bagpipes and squeeze the air up from below them. Or something like that.

    Also, sit up as straight as you can, chin up. Start by breathing as deeply as you can and holding your breath a few times to expand your lung capacity. And try holding a note, and going up and down the scale to warm up your voice.

  4. You sounded kind of nervous. The spliced in footage with the dialogue (like Mr. T eyelasering Assimo) was cool, production wise. I studied after effects for 2 weeks to apply for an internship I wanted and eventually got. It's not an easy program to master.

    I studied it for 2 days before I made this, heh. I think the little GotNext logo thing at the beginning looks nice. The Mr. T eye laser thing is cheesy looking, but that was the point.

    I think the interface is quite elegant, actually. I find it very intuitive, but I'm not exactly doing anything terribly complicated, either.

  7. FWIW, I loved it. I didn't know some of these games existed so I learned something and I am glad I don't ever have to play these.

  8. I made a new one, finally. Once again, Sqoon on the assist with the writing.

    I tried to incorporate a lot of the feedback from this thread. It's still my voice, but it's more like my natural speaking voice, and the recording's clearer. Also waste less time with the intro and keep the pacing snappy (though it is long, it, but it covers a lot)

  10. I enjoyed this very much, though I think it could have been tightened up a bit to make it a little faster, and flow a little better. I'm an impatient person, however, so I'm not the best judge.
