Uh... it couldn't have been more painfully obvious that Lois had figured it out some time before the movie started. She didn't say "I know you're Clark Kent" because she wanted him to admit it. It's the superhero version of finally getting that elusive "I love you."
As for science... yeah, Supes has the entire technological knowledge of Krypton at his disposal. Strange really that so many people think he's just a dumb strongman. As for Lex, before the Crisis on Infinite Earths event changed everything, he was a pretty typical mad scientist type. Since then, he's been portrayed as a megalomaniacal billionaire who doesn't do the mad science thing himself, but rather funds it. Criminal mastermind, with no superscience involved? That version of Lex pretty much only exists in the (live action) movies.

Not really.
He was a great metaphor until about halfway through the Cold War. Since then, he's been completely worthless.
No she didnt know before then. She gave no sign of that when Clark went to the "minefield" in Afghanistan. Same old bitchy Lois. And after her and Supes had fucked or whatever in the Fortress she brought up Clark's job in Afghanistan. Maybe it flew by me but I got no inkling that she knew his identity at all (even though we all know she should by that point).
I know supes' father was a scientist but just because he has tech from Krypton doesnt make him one too.Batman I would consider a scientist, not Supes.
Superscience Lex I can concede on. I guess he has made some pretty jacked weapons and stuff to combat the League over the years. For some reason I just always assumed he had others making it for him being the billionare that he is.

I'm pretty sure The Gas is right about Lois knowing Superman's identity prior to. When Superman "died" and she held him in her arms, she whispered "Clark" as she cried. The whole thing about being a bitch to Clark and bringing Clark up with Superman was to get Superman to finally tell her himself.
Well, his dad left him an archive of all of Krypton's scientific knowledge, and studying it is one of the main way he passes the time up north. Granted he mainly takes what's there and finds ways to apply it, not really expand upon it much.Like I said... before the Crisis*, he did the mad science grunt work himself, as he didn't have billions back then and even had to rob banks, etc to fund his work. After the Crisis, DC decided the new version of Lex should be a type of villain with more relevance to the modern world, so they gave him bottomless pockets and had him sign the mad scientists' checks instead of being one of them himself (as well as frequently playing the Machiavelli game with Metropolis' business and political scenes).
*If you don't know, the Crisis on Infinite Earths was a major crossover event in the 80s in which the entire continuity of the DC comics universe was reset, and it was reduced to actually be a single universe, not a multiverse as it had been up to that point (and is again today). Many aspects of many characters' mythos were drastically changed. This movie (and all of the direct-to-video DC movies going forward) is its own self-contained story, not connected to Batman TAS/Superman TAS/Batman Beyond/Justice League/JLU/the other two I can't be bothered to remember that were part of that continuity but not based on existing comics. Actually one was Static Shock, the other was Project somethingorother. Even if we had seen the Lois of that continuity find out Supes' identity, it would have no bearing on this movie.
I think the movie makes it clear enough that Lois already knows the secret going in; how she found out isn't really relevant. I like to think she knew almost from the start of their relationship; if you're going the Donner movies/silver age comics route where Lois is a ditz and Clark dresses like a schlub in an ill-fitting suit and cokebottle-hornrims and acts like a clutzy, spineless goofball, it's one thing, but when Lois is depicted as smart and Clark is basically just Supes in a business suit and classy specs, the secret can't realistically last more than a week.

I somehow didn't notice this watching the movie, but now that it's been pointed out, I totally see it:lololololololololTo top it all off, this is quite possibly the gayest Superman ever portrayed on film. I don't mean that in a derrogative sense, I mean that in the sense that this film is laced with slightly veiled homo-erotic phrases or imagery. At more then one occasion, Lex refers to Superman as a "Beautiful God." There's a seen were Lex is fighting his evil Superman clone, straddled on top of him and asking "Why did you leave me?" For a moment, not just myself but the others watching the film with me, honestly thought Lex was gonna kiss him! Throw on top of that a few shots of Supes in a thong with his flowing locks and some oil wrestling between the two Superman and you really get to wondering.
My favorite part had to be when evil Superman grabbed the now long-locked Superman by the hair, repeatedly pulling him down to "Knee" him in the face. Of course, all we see is Superman's head bobbing up and down a few times, before falling to his knees and onto the ground. Evil Superman follows this attack with, "Now who's better EQUIPPED to defend the city." I almost fell out of my chair.
