I almost sort of agree with nocturne about the hero thing. To me, most American vets are more like victims of their governments shitty foreign policy than they are heroes. That doesn't diminish what they've been through or how it may have strengthened their character, though.

And Kedawa has it right. Just because i believe there are no heroes doesn't mean i don't respect veterans for what they've been through war or not.
