Thread: X-Files movie sequel

This would have been really cool 20 years ago when the x-files were still on tv or whatever.

  2. Yeah, I really can't picture anyone caring at this point.

  3. I'll see this opening night. They say that if this gets made it will be just a "one shot" thing, so you don't need to know the mythology to understand it. Which is good, because I watched the X-Files movie again a few months ago and I knew that if I didn't already know what the fuck was going on I would have been so lost.

I refuse to believe this. Why?

That's why. I wasn't a fan of the show and I couldn't follow the movie. If they make a sequel do you really think they're going to bother setting up everything that was already explained in the TV show/first movie?

This is aimed at fans of the show, period. No one else will care.

there were many times in the series that episodes were standalone and not even remotely part of the main arc other than mulder and scully. i fail to see why they can't do that with a movie.

  6. I don't know. I think if you put some solid writing behind this it could actually be entertaining without you having to see most of the TV series to understand what's going on.
