I was talking Xbox versions. I listed obscure games because even they are still supported. I guess im just not used to online support dropping so fast. Most of my online experience is with PC games, and I can still play 10 year old online games there at anytime. I guess thats the standard im holding it to. I went out and bought the ps2 network adapter specifically for Metal Gear Online and I was stunned it was gone so fast.

well then get your facts straight. afaik, most (if not all) Xbox games are set up peer-to-peer. there are no dedicated servers (like MGO) for each game per-se. because of this, as long as people want to play, there will be an online community. Konami pulled the plug because a couple hundred people was not worth their dollars to keep a server going.

There were far more people playing than pretty much any other PS2 game, I'm certain.

Like I said, it was less because of online population and more because they were trying to railroad players into buying Portable Ops.
