Thread: JJ Abrams' Star Trek

  1. Oh hell, that rumor about establishing a second timeline turned out true?! I didn't even bother posting it because I thought surely they had more sense than that...

    Star Trek sucks.

  3. They leave TNG storyline pretty wide open after Nemesis and now they are 'rebooting' the series...

    No Data, no watch.

  4. What the fuck is with this young casting? Last time I checked Star Trek wasn't set in junior high or set to a soft rock/new age emo pop soundtrack. I like Sylar, but I really hope they don't cast that young piece of shit as Kirk.

In fact, I don't think anybody besides Shatner can play Kirk unless they change the tone of the franchise altogether.

  5. Weird casting choices.May be hard to take this movie seriously and not chuckle whenever they give their lines:

    Basically,

John Cho (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) has been cast as Sulu, the Enterprise's helmsman, while Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) has signed on to play Scotty, the ship's Scottish chief engineer, in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek feature for Paramount.

Already on board are Eric Bana as the villain, Nero, Zoe Saldana as Uhura and Anton Yelchin as a young Chekov, the Russian-born navigator,
Eric Bana is good stuff.Too bad he's only a throw away villian. That black chick playing Uhura? wow. hot.

  6. Simon Pegg?! That is fucking odd

  7. That's weird shit, but get ready for the most bizarre casting choice…Kirk is finally revealed.

    You're not gonna like it.

    Kirk is 'Cumming'

Today, Scottish film and stage actor Alan Cumming was revealed as the successor to the iconic role of Captain James T. Kirk in J.J. Abram's much-hyped reboot of the beloved Star Trek franchise. Details are still sketchy, but it appears that the deal has been finalized. This joins a rash of off-kilter casting announcements such as the Asian kid from the Harold and Kumar movies as Sulu and the fat guy from Shaun of the Dead as Scotty. Cumming most recently received attention for his role as the wall-crawling mutant Nightcrawler in X2: X-Men United.

  8. What a throwaway movie.

  9. Set a course for disaster! Warp 9!

It's going to take a lot of convincing for me to see this.

  10. It's Star Trek. It was crap long before any casting choices were made.
