Nothing I've seen about this show makes me think, "yeah, that could work out."
Could be worse. They could have made an Aliens tv show.
Okay, I saw it. Kinda lame.
You know a franchise is on its last legs when it goes from the movies to TV. What a fucking shame.
If the studio heads had lined up as much money, hookers and coke as James Cameron could have ever wanted to lure him back to direct T3, this never would have happened.

Superman Returns makes me think yes to the question, Korly.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Please. Superman Returns sucked ass. But the quality of the movie has nothing to do with the viability of the franchise. You can get more Superman merchandise these days than ever before. Smallville is still going 7 seasons strong. The various Superman comics have some of the greatest creative teams of all time lately (even attracting RICHARD DONNER to Action Comics) and there is all sorts of talk of a big JLA movie. Superman even stars in the highly rated Legion cartoon.
So no, Superman is going nowhere.
Was Buffy the Vampire Slayer a better movie, or TV show?
What about Highlander? (Shut up Ricky Bobby)
Hell, what about Stargate?
See, the episodic nature of TV is highly condusive to the type of long form storytelling that these universes with their rich backstories and fully realized universes deserve. You can tell a much more engaging story in 24 hours (episodes) than you can in 2 hours (most movies). Sure, the effects budget will be smaller, but there's no reason to believe that EVERYTHING else won't be better. And yeah, I like Arnold.
I'll bet the Star Wars TV show ends up being awesome, and lasting for ten seasons.
I'd die to get a "Hogwarts" show after the movies are over.
But most of those shows suck.
You get more story, but also a ton of filler.

I think comparing Terminator to a property that has been ingrained in the american coulture for the last 60+ years is a little bit of a stretch.
Superman has been a symbol of americana for a while and a crappy tv show (its not) and a crappy movie (it is) arent going to derail it. Only thing that would stop was the big screen adoptions. There still the comic stuff, the animated stuff, the merchandising. Superman wouldnt go anywhere.
i dont think its a T.V. series that shows a property on its last lag. Its a crappy underwhelming T.V. show that no one is really looking forward to. Is the Terminator series like that.... Maybe, i havnt seen the pilot so i can really comment. Seeing some of the comments about it and it being its the first ep. there could be improvement. Or not.
