Thread: Fire Pro Wrestling Returns Coming to North America and Europe

  1. We used to have epic battles at Korly's house in FPD.

    Fantastic times.

The cpu can be a jerk sometimes, especially when the guys "lock up" and you have to hit the button as fast as you can to overpower the guy. Above level 3 or so I think I could never beat them, I'd just let 'em win.

I never was able to get into the DC version as much because the timing was a bit different.
You have never played Fire Pro, perhaps you're thinking of something else?

I still play a translated version of Super FirePro X once in a while, best wrestling series EVER.

  3. I got my old Playstation to play import titles just to play Firepro Wrestling G. And it was so worth it. I'm keeping my eye on this.

This would be a great addition to the XBLA lineup, but can they really fit all those wrestlers and fighters and their moves to under the 50 (or even 150) MB limit?
    R.I.P. Paragon Studios

  4. Well, the GBA games had a huge roster of wrestlers/fighters and lots of moves, so it could be done, but might result in severe graphical (and probably mode) sacrifices. XBLA, with its free demo option, would be a fantastic way to get the word out about the series, so I'd like to see an XBLA game made, even if it was lacking in features compared to the console versions.

Don't remind me that we got fucked in our import version

  6. The first GBA Firepro in the U.S. was a faithful adaptation of the first GBA one in the Japan, while the second... was fucked up, but at least had more moves than the JPN sequel, and featured a hilariously-bad "PROWRESTRING" bio section.

Edit - A page of FPR edits, including MK, G.I. Goe, and Marvel characters - http://www.yobond.com/firepro/firepror.html

I'll concede on the ring, but getting a faithful translation of the Japanese version where I can manage my promotion? I'd pay 100 fucking dollars for that for the GBA version, much less what a PS3 or XBox(fingers crosses) could do.

  8. IGN's got a preview up here - http://ps2.ign.com/articles/811/811300p1.html

Mark has also recently posted on the FPC boards that the translation is going fairly smoothly, and expects it to be released late this year.

  9. Is there a reason this series hasn't gone 3D? It seems like the editor and all that would benefit a lot.

  10. Wasn't King of Colosseum the 3d iteration of FP?
