It looks cool but has a slight been there done that feel to it.

I like how everybody I know says this exact same thing, yet they haven't actually PLAYED any of the games on the PS3. Believe the news: Motorstorm and Resistance: Fall of Man ARE WORTH PLAYING! Seriously, Motorstorm isn't the generic "XTREME hillbilly racing game" that it looks like. Its more like the PS3's new flagship racing franchise (i.e. wave race, 1080, excitebike etc.). Resistance: Fall of Man is also a REALLY REALLY good game. The first level SUCKS, and the game looks like some kind of Call of Duty rip off...but the deeper you get into the game the more "Holy Shit" moments you'll find. The gameplay also becomes very addictive, because its just a very well paced shooting game with some nice strategic weapon usage.
Moreover, Virtua Fighter 5 is still on the PS3...and its still worth playing over Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive.
I couldn't disagree with you more on Resistance. I played through the entire game hoping it was going to get better, but the entire time just felt like a chore. The animation and colors were so dull and boring, and every level felt the same. For a next gen game, I just felt it fell flat.
Actually I played both Resistance and Motorstorm, and they were even less inspired than I dared to hope. Maybe they both get better the more you play them, but screw that. I have a ton of 360 games that are fun RIGHT NOW.
is the first level the one in the demo? is so......yeah it REALLY sucks.
I haven't played the demo...but as far as I know the first level is the only really sucky level in the game from my experience.
I just don't get all the hate for these two games. I found both of them to be very fun titles to play through. The only problem I had with Motorstorm was the loading times, and once I got past that I found a game with great graphics and some of the best physics I've seen in an arcade type of racing game.
EDIT - and its good to hear that you AT LEAST tried the games Compass. Most of the people I know haven't even sat down with the game for even a second, and they go on and on about how there aren't any good games on the system...I'm not even a Sony fanboy or anything. The first Sony system I bought was a Playstation 2 about three years into its lifespan, and I was never a big fan of that system. That being said, I have really enjoyed the PS3, and all the games I've played on it, so far.

hahah...yes, I guess you can say that.
For the first few years the PS2 was out, I was still busy playing and collecting Dreamcast games. The library of "one time playthrough" games on the PS2 never really appealled to me, as I'm more of a fan of the "arcade like" high replay value titles that the Dreamcast offered. To this day, I still play more Dreamcast games than PS2 games...so I guess thats why I say I was never a big fan of the PS2.
Now days, I have the PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 all hooked up to my TV...so I am free to have a more unbiased opinion of all the systems. Thus far, I have just found myself enjoying the PS3 far more than the Wii. I like the 360, but I don't enjoy playing games online that often...so a major component of what supposedly makes the 360 awesome is totally lost on me. So, I just consider the 360 and PS3 to be a wash for me because I like both of them equally.
If achievements were on it youd call it GOTY contender. Meet The Robinsons anyone?
you also called them really bad games without having played them over 10 minutes. Somehow i doubt your playtime on them has even doubled.Actually I played both Resistance and Motorstorm, and they were even less inspired than I dared to hope. Maybe they both get better the more you play them, but screw that. I have a ton of 360 games that are fun RIGHT NOW.
the demo is the first level. The game picks up after the first hour or so. and 40vs online is addicting.is the first level the one in the demo? is so......yeah it REALLY sucks.
Confirmed. Magnified, your PS3 makes PS2 games look better on HDTVs, time to go into the back cataloge of the PS2, simply amazing games you have missed. So you were never a big fan of a system with one of the best libraries ever, and you're really enjoying a system with one of the most lacking libraries thus far?
