Thread: Official PlayStation 3 Thread 3: Rise of the Machines

  1. i'm still waiting for something that justify's a $60 price tag. for the reasons already stated, while both Motostorm and FoM are "good", they're not $60 great.

i would say the same thing if it was the 360. there's less then 5 games currently on that system i would pay full price for. $60 is bs. i thought we did that already during the silicon scare in the cartridge days.

I agree that $60 is BS, but I don't regret paying the price for Motorstorm at all. Sure, if I could have reduced loading and custom soundtracks at $60 that'd be even nicer, and if I could have all that at $50 it'd be amazing, but $60 games are unfortunately a reality now. If we all railed against it and voted with our dollars there wouldn't be much to play. It sucks, but what is there to do at this point?

Hey, at least the $6 PS1 games on the PS Store are more reasonably priced than anything on VC.

  3. yeah...to me...money is money. I accept the fact that games are $60 now. Its been a lot worse in the past anyways. $79.99 for Super Castlevania 4 anyone?!

I just buy what I want to buy when it comes out, and I don't spend the time stressing out over if I'll be able to save ten cents on it a week from now. If I get any enjoyment whatsoever out of a game, then it was worth the $60 I spent.

  4. i was going to make a new thread but figured i'd put it here. some ideas that SONY needs to implement both in the XMB and the store.

    - have an option to auto install downloads. it's dumb to wait for the download, then come back and have to tell it to install.

    - handle the inbox better. afaik unless you see the prompt, it's up to you to manually go into the inbox to see if there's new messages. there is no indicator of any kind to remind you.

    - if you're kicked off the network and in the middle of writing a message. please save it like cell phones do when you have an incoming call or message. it's dumb that i have to type it all out again just because my connection droped.

    - add custom bg music. MS has been doing it TWO generation now. it's okay to blatantly rip off ideas.

    - enhance the XMB customizing. backgrounds should only be the start. i want to see Vista Dreamscene style shit eventually. this is the all purpose "set top box" so fucking wow me, starting with the interface.

    - redesign the Store. TOTALLY. it's ugly as sin and the metallic colored controller symbols are nasty. the guadiest (sp?) shit i have ever seen.

i agree about the ps1 pricing but give us more games. for fucks sake it's your own library. 2 games a week. that's all i ask for.

the only SNES games i remember being more than $50 were the Final Fantasy games. i don't ever remember Castlevania being $80.

Hopefully my memory isn't fuzzy...maybe it was just Toys R Us price gauging when i was a kid. I specifically remember my parents making me choose from Castlevania, Ghouls and Ghousts, and Madden...and all three were like $80.

Should have bought games in Canada. SF2T cost me $115.

Shit...thats right...now I know my memory isn't off. I had to pay like $75.99 for Super Street Fighter II over here. I acutally rolled up $75 worth of pennies and took it to the bank in order to buy it...LOL.

Isn't there an indicator to the left of the person who sent you the message when there's a new one?

I'm pretty sure Sony already knows this.
