Price drops are the least of my concerns right now. When they're not underdelivering on something, they're delaying something else. Of course, you could say they're doing the latter to prevent the former, but in the long run it probably won't make a difference. Dual Shock 3 in 2008 for everybody but Japan? Well, thanks for announcing it, now I don't want to buy another Sixaxis and neither does anyone else I know. I hope delaying Home til 2008 doesn't mean ingame XMB or custom soundtracks aren't delayed til then too.

Tons of them have. Xbox, Gamecube, Dreamcast, the DS was offering extra incentives within the first year, and that's just among recent systems.

i kinda see the ps3 as a different monster. Its got a ton of new tech thats being quickly adopted by many companies, and production costs dive, as much as im sure theyd love to sit at $600 for one year and rake in profits, they know they need to drop the price.

Sony just isnt making as much money as they had expected, theyre not 6 billion down the hole yet.

So Walmart Canada is having an anniversary sale, and they are selling the 80 Gig PS3 for $550 Canadian...which is like...$600 American...HAH!. Anyway, that's $100 bucks less than usual. Add in a friends employee discount and that just might be worth picking up.

Hey, cool. I kinda forgot about Bladestorm after the Japanese demo... where I had no idea what was happening and gave up very quickly. Will give this a shot in a bit.

edit: or I'll remember that demos come out Thursday and be sad about the false alarm.
