Thread: Question about import PS2 shooters.

  1. Wow, Homura's bomb was lifted right from Night Raid.

I can't say Skonec made me a fan with Psyvariar 2.

  2. Yeah, I didn't care much for Psyvariar 2 either (too much spinning around and not enough shooting). But Homura has a pretty fun and easy to learn chaining-type scoring system, the branching level design is nice (one path is for an "easy" route, the other for a "hard" route, even though they are both pretty much the same in difficulty), and the stage design is pretty good. I particularly like Stage 4's design. It's a good challenge to 1CC as well, getting to the Stage 4 boss on one credit isn't too hard, but beating the last boss takes some time and a good deal of skill.

  3. Is the branching difficulty based on rank or anything? I hated how Psyvariar 2 was a struggle to force the game into being even remotely challenging. It was very ironic.

The bomb doesn't actually show up in that video, the guys is actually using the multi-purpose sword attack. Slash near some bullets and they reverse back to the enemy, or slash near an enemy and take out all that are on screen. You have to wait about five seconds between slashes.

The trick with the sword how it combines with the combo multiplier. Taking out a pile of enemies in one go jacks up the multiplier, but (and I'm still a little fuzzy on the exact mechanics) if you take out too few enemies you can sink the multiplier as well. Also, while you're scooting around the screen slashing at things, enemies are still flying in and shooting, so you've got to time it right. It's very well balanced to avoid abuse.

No, it's not based on rank. You can just choose if you want it harder or easier. The weird thing is on the first level you can get way more points with the Easy path than the hard one (Easy is always the LEFT path, Hard is always the RIGHT path). The optimal path for scoring for stages 1-3, as far as anyone knows, is EHH. There is no path choice in Stage 4, and Stage 5 is just the final boss fight.

  7. First Off; he's hired, tomorrow.

We have this nasty as 36 year old bitch in sales, nice body but a horse face and terrible makeup. All she does all day is talk about how much men suck, and complains to me about people she works with making it hard for her to focus. Last time she did this, I pulled out her call log that showed she called her friend 48 fucking times in 3 fucking days for a total of 3:02 hrs, god I want to fire her so bad. Terry Tate would be my solution although she probably scare him away by trying to fuck him.

Secondly; OMG Hi2U, where the hell have you been my good man?
