Dragon Quest IV, V, and VI remakes coming to DS

There is a full English script for DQIV DS buried in the Japanese ROM. It's not
selectable in the Japanese version, but may be an indication that the USA version is a sure thing, and will be coming soon.

Sucks that they would have the full script and not include a way to select it in the Japanese version. Maybe there'll be a code.

All the same maybe I'll wait a bit then, it would be much easier and faster for me to play through the game in English.

Apparently there's a German script in there too, maybe some other languages. Looks like an International release for this one.

I will buy this. I will play it. I'll likely even finish it. But damn, I do so wish they'd gone the FF-remake PSP route with these. I'd much rather play cleaned-up 2D versions than chunky DS-3D versions.

It's not a good formula. It was a formula forged from technical limitations. The series creator even said he never wanted it to play that way, but that's all they could do back then, but they won't let him change it now. The fact is it's shallow, boring, repetitive, and the opposite of fun. Fucking fix it.

I honestly can't stand the PSP Final Fantasy remakes. They take NES sprites (which were designed the way they were due to NES limitations) and then re-draw then at a higher resolution with more colors, and the end result just looks horribly awkward. I wish they'd gone back to the original art designs and worked from there.

There's an Action Replay Code that will let you use the UNFINISHED English translation on the game (along with the other languages). The beginning is still in Japanese and the English is reported to start with Ragnars chapter.
