Wow.
My custom Frightstuff Jason hock is finished. The artist let me know he's mailing it out tomorrow and posted some pics to show me the finished product.
Frankly, I'm fucking amazed at how good a job this guy did. The hock is based on the part 5 barnyard dream Jason paintjob, part 6 shape (including the eye holes, axe cut, and cheek rivets), and part 3 straps. We discussed the basics of the job I wanted (I just wanted a 'typical' Jason look, not an exact copy of any one movie) and he got exactly what I had envisioned in my head.
Anyway, if you're interested in getting your own mask, go to Frightstuff.com and talk to Crash in the forums. There are other artists there, but they honestly don't even come close to Crash. The guy can exactly duplicate the look of any hock in the series, or do whatever custom stuff you want. Awesome.

Thanks. Overall, the price wasn't bad at all. The blank mask (pre-paintjob) was $55. The guy who runs Frightstuff (Ken) molded it, drilled the air vent holes, and attached the straps. Based on my conversations with the artist (Crash), I had Ken skip cutting the eye holes and axe indent, as Crash wanted to handle that himself based on the custom job I wanted (although Ken does that as well if you want).
After the blank was drilled and strapped, Ken shipped it directly to Crash for the paintjob, which ran me $75 (although I suppose the price varies based on exactly what you want done). So, the job I had done ran me a total of $130, which a great price considering that I've seen really, really shitty replicas that were about that price (or more) that didn't even approach this quality.
And I love that he shipped it to me in a police evidence bag. lol.
If you don't have a lot of cash, just get the blank and paint it yourself. Frightstuff's message board has a lot of detailed info on how to do it.
