TV writer Nick Antosca (Hannibal, Believe) has been tapped by Paramount to write a new draft of Friday the 13th.

David Bruckner, who earned praise for his indie horror film V/H/S, is directing Friday the 13th, which is expected to employ the found-footage technique and answer the decades-old question of why slasher Jason Voorhes can't be killed. Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg wrote the previous draft.

I read this elsewhere today...interesting talent they're putting into this, but it's also a bummer because it confirms that they apparently haven't written a single word of the motherfucking script yet or made any other progress whatsoever. Why the fuck are they dragging their feet on this?

However, in the article that I read, they confirmed that the found footage concept has been officially scrapped. I hope that's true.

The sweet-looking NECA Part 6 retro figure is due out this month, and here's what it looks like boxed. Man, NECA keeps knocking the custom card artwork out of the park on their F13 retro releases. I can't wait for this.
