Thread: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

  1. I'm not really taking this as serious as Halo 2.

At the same time, if I'm on this game four nights a week, why not raid during that time?

    I like the Draenai.

p.s. If you're choosing based on visual awesomeness you better be a Troll.

I want to be in a guild that clears Lich's equivalent of Sunwell and if I can't get that where I am I'll go somewhere I can.
Shit, it's like you want to type out my responses for me.
I'm just saying, I played for six months and completely caught up with you guys in terms of content and I sure as shit did not walk into a guild that was already there.
I'm just saying, you did all your catching up during the same nerf that gave us the last half of one instance, which we then farmed like mad. Quit trying to front rampantly until you can break forums with the Ashes of A'lol.

How did you farm it like mad when it's only reset like two or three times since your first clear?

Three times how many times did you do it? is mad farming?

I will never get that mount, I'm sure.

Also I'm not worried about gear beyond getting good enough gear to see end game content. If I was running Sunwell now I wouldn't be stressing on winning every drop, I would just care about clearing the whole thing. Word on the street is that place is pretty awesome, and it sucks that I will never be able to experience it properly. I don't want that to happen this time around.

  4. I'd tell you about how Blizzard was all "Sunwell was overtuned and we're going to stop making instances for superguilds-only since they'll beat shit on day one no matter what" but everything you've been posting makes me think you'd steal our guild bank right before applying to Nihilum.

Ha! That's what I am. When I made him it was really just a random shot (I was Alliance and my gf at the time said we should make trolls) and I think had I gone with orc or anything else I wouldn't have had a problem with the draenei. Since then though I've gotten used to how my troll moves, great attack animations, and anything else just doesn't feel right. Even throwing on the Broken costume while killing Al'ar, for whichever t6 attunement that was, blew. The rest of the races that are options for me just kind of feel stiff by comparison.

    Re: Sunwell
KJ is worth going back for sometime on your trip to or when you guys are 80. The other fights were quite a bit of fun but since the patch they've been dumbed down to dps bursts. Kalec was a great fight that required the coordination of everyone involved and now it's a 2 minute burst down where I only have to take one portal even if I'm the first to get it. Twins was stupid and random pre-patch and while I'm happy to have downed them before it, I'm glad it's just a burst. M'uru, too, went from being a real test for any guild to being over before he has the chance to do anything. KJ is still a great experience though. He will still kick your ass and his spawn and death animations are amazing.
So I forced my hands in my pockets and felt with my thumbs and gallantly handed her my very last piece of gum.

If the reason you play WoW, is to be rolling in the best loot in the game as soon as you possibly can, and that in turn over shadows your desire to play in any situation that might actually be more fun, then well, lets just say I'm glad for you that you didn't play Vanilla WoW, as any endgame guild master would have kicked you out of their guild for even mentioning you had personal goals in the game. You rolled your character right in time to take advantage of the easy epic era.

In other words, you're a loot whore.

P.S. This is why no one wanted to play Halo with you.

You never once had to run an unerfed 40 man therefore you will always be behind them, and myself, in content.

Yes, three clears right off. I suppose I should've phrased that differently since we'd be farming the first few regularly for a while (mostly stuck because we were slowed by Arch attempts before going rogue tank), but yeah.

    And TK, Hyjal, BT, etc.

Look, you're enjoying the game (which is the point) and all, I just find it funny that you were all, "I want to do all the toughest stuff!" right off having a good time only fighting stuff at half-strength.

But it's about content not loot. How is that loot whore?

Maybe I don't understand loot whoring, and somehow it's a really poorly chosen name for someone who wants to see content and instances as they happen instead of being stuck, but if it's what I think it is then you guys calling me a loot whore is just wrong.

Also, you're crazy if you think that I'm going to join a guild filled with people I don't like just to get to end game, but you're also crazy if you think I'm going to play with bad people (not necessarily you guys) just because they are the funniest fuckers on that planet.

P.S. This is why no one wanted to play Halo with you.
And for the record, people did want to play Halo 2 with me, my clan and tons of people who knew who we were. I probably put hundreds of kids on ignore because they sent me messages begging to get into our clan or a big team or a whatever back in the day. The problem is you guys somehow think we never had fun in Clan matches (which is silly since not one of you was ever there) because we took is serious, but you couldn't be further from the truth. Playing with my clan in that game is hands down the funnest experience I have ever had with a game. TNL Clan was fun and I'm sure we could have had fun being mediocre forever, but it was a lot more rewarding having the same level of fun with guys who could help me advance further.

I'm looking for that in WoW. I've been in the Catalyst vent a lot over the last month and while I don't know any of those guys yet and it's not necessarily fun for me yet, they sounds like they are having just the most fun all the time. Constant jokes and chatter. My friend Chris who joined them and ran Sunwell for the last month with them said it's the same way in there; they are serious about doing the raiding and they do everything the right way, but the entire time it's fun and relaxed.

    That's what I'm going for.

P.S. I just realized you guys probably think it's all about loot because I said we'd be rolling in the "best loot in the game" in response to Trial, but I only said that because he said "stupid loot" not because it's my main objective. Way to take something he started and turn it all over on me.

You know the people in RF from TNL can handle anything the game throws at you, it's not a hard game at all compared to most of the shit we play. The only reason we've ever struggled with content is because we're really small, and pretty much need everyone to show up in order to run a 25 man. I really wanted more dependable people from TNL who can help me out in an officer capacity or at least just as a dependable raider to come over now that the game is basically resetting... one less slot to worry about.

We've had plenty of mercs come, take loot, and eventually leave. Lots of people quit for school or marriage or other irl reasons. We used to be like 50% female until we realized they were like 90% of all loot and guild drama and lost them all one by one. We've had our MT leave on a bunch of occasions, knocking us back hard on content. We pretty much didn't start 25 man content until December of last year to be honest, and have taken a lot of months-long breaks from raiding during which we lost even more people.

Point is, we downed everything in a 25-man up to Bloodboil before the nerfs in about one to two attempts per boss (except Archimonde, fuck some people) raiding about 8 hours a week. We're good enough to do that, and I like that.

Just because you log on everyday to do some light shit for a bit doesn't mean that you want to log on and commit to a raid for that night. If you want to raid 4-5 nights a week then no, you will never be happy in RF. All I know is that everyone who has played wth us and later quit the guild for epics or other stupid reasons, pretty much without exceptions here, has quickly realized how shitty and boring the game gets when you take away that element of friendship and humor start playing for other reasons.

We have been pretty much whittled down to a core of great people at this point, so we're starting off WotLK in a much better position that with the bloated mess of unskilled raiders we had to keep around coming into BC.

But yeah, no drama, no loot whores. No people who talk a lot of shit about how good they are and how many bosses they've killed when I call them out for making a mistake. Very few people under 20 and nobody who types like a 15 year old girl text messages. I think we're doing ok (except for Bugout and Rohane).
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
    My Backloggery

  10. See I wouldn't be happy with months long breaks. It's fine if you guys are, more power to you, but I don't turn on WoW to not play it and I have never understood why other people do.
