Thread: The Game Boy Era Is Over

  1. Okay, going to back you on this one. There are a lot of sprites but nothing that's happening here looks like very much fun. I mean, a lot of it could have to do with the fact that this guy keeps parking in the corner every time real enemies show up, but I don't think that's quite all of it.

Cool, cool, I should'ave just bit my tongue, and I don't want to quibble over small matters, but purporting the Lynx as any kind of worthwhile portable is no small matter.
Now the problem with Zarlor isn't so much the graphics, but rather the sound. Fuck, the typical Lynx experience sucks.
Give me a B&W OGGB anyday over Lynx. The only thing Lynx had remotely going for it (well, besides OMG scaling!) was tate orientation.

Lynx has Klax. That's all it needs to be awesome.

  4. Stun Runner is the best reason to own Lynx IMO.

There are so many reasons to own a Lynx. This thread is making me want to do a Game Boy vs. Lynx vs. Game Gear thread but then I remembered I already made one because of it so I'll just link to Frog's buyer's guide instead. It has almost the exact same games I would recommend.

  6. I would've added that Elivra pinball game. It's so much fun.

Having a fun game system that you'll play for hours on end isn't one of them.
    Seriously.

  8. I played my Lynx waaaaay more than my GameGear and Gameboy.

So did I, as a matter of fact.
But today, the Lynx games do not deliver quite like any of the GameGear or GameBoy classics.
Well, GameGear isn't the best argument, but shit, I'd rather play GG Shinobi, or GG Aleste, or GG Fantasy Zone, or Zenki, or shit, even Panzer Mini, over anything on Lynx. And yes I still do own an extensive Lynx collection.
Face it, playing Lynx games sux ballz.
How many of you guys saying, Stun Runner, or Elvira, or Zarlor Mercenary, or whatever, have actually sat and played that shit on a Lynx for more than 20 minutes at any one time (now, Klax, maybe) in the past 10 years?
