The opinion never bothered me (although I disagree with it). The attitude certainly did. Which is why I'm not bitching at you in the same way.

The original Gameboy wasn't huge. It's about the size of a DS lite but twice as thick. It fit into my pockets when I was a kid and is smaller than some of the pocket sized comics I occasionally carry around now. I'm sure it was a tight fit for some kid's pockets but there's no reason to exaggerate its size like you're doing.
It was bigger in every dimension that the fatty DS. I understand it was smaller than the Game Gear and Lynx, but since I had to throw it in a bag anyway, it just didn't matter that much to me.
Yeah, I honestly think a lot of Lynx hate comes from Japanophile gamers. The Lynx is very much in the Western arcade and Atari/Commodore computer traditions aside from a few ports of Japanese-made games.Originally Posted by Frogacuda
Fine, let's put it this way: you had no concept that this was a contentious matter among anyone except nostalgics, whose testimony you dismissed as apologist.

Oh god yes! I never liked the 2600 at all, and I owned a Microvision when it was new. I'd play games in the arcade and then see what they turned into on the 2600, and had no idea why people loved it. Vector graphics games like Omega Race and Asteroids suffered the worst, but most ports bore almost no resemblance to the arcade experience. Sure, there were a few gems like Adventure that almost justified the 2600's existence, but they were few and far between.
I tried to like the Intellivision but there just wasn't enough for it, and it wasn't until Colecovision that home console games finally became acceptable. Sad but true fact, though, is that I never had a console to call my own until the Genesis.

All Atari systems have sucked. Every single one.
Intellivision was easily the best thing going during its time. Colecovision ruled as well. I need to play that Smurfs game again.
