Thread: Metal Slug 4 - Hands on impressions from GameSpot

  1. ...

The arcade here in State College PA has had all of them over the course of the few years I've been going and now it has MS4. I played it the other day and plan to go today and play some more. Personally, I think it's a lot of fun and the dual machine guns are awesome! I don't think it's as difficult as MS3, as I was able to make it almost to the end of level 2 on 1 quarter, which is good for me (I don't play MS much). And I don't do near as well in MS3.

The characters have a new close-up move--instead of just knifing you do kicks and what not to kill enemies. I have only played it a few times, so as I play it more, I'll post more observations--but my first impression is that it is a great addition to the series and I would definitely consider buying it if I had AES.

  2. Playland in State College has it! Whooo Hooo! I haven't been there in so long..... That wonderful building introduced me to MS3.... I live 4 hours away now, but I still have a good friend there, so I am sure I will return.

  3. I hope that that Sengoku 3 machine gets replaced by MS3 or 4, but the chances are low

I guess I will never play those games

The enemy chasers and the little ground planes were introduced in MS2/X. Of course, the dual machine guns are new.

Yup...right to the left when you walk in...I think they swapped out Sengoku 3...but that's okay...now I am only waiting for them to get GGXX and all is good...I can't wait for my lunch break everyday just to go play a couple games...
