  2. I liked it.

Dolemite, the Bad-Ass King of all Pimps and Hustlers
Gymkata: I mean look at da lil playah woblin his way into our hearts in the sig awwwwwww

  3. Hemsworth did a solid job, despite my assumptions to the contrary. I see him getting a lot of work from this.

  4. Honestly for how kind of ridiculous the Thor stories are he did. But I don't have a problem with any of the acting. It was the script. Completely bonkers unstructured. There wasn't even a goal or serious crisis until the end of the movie and Loki's motives were never truly actualized. It just seemed very loosely strung together and completely unrealistic behaviour, even for Gods. Like even when Loki was given the crown Thor seemed to stand by him. He apologized and everything. Loki didn't have to do anything. His goal was already realized. Because of that I didn't ever hate or love to hate Loki. And the Frost giants just seemed like huge bitches for the Asgardians to rape with pointy and/or blunt objects.

I was bored. I wish they had done more of the coffee-mug-smashing, get-me-a-horse shopping Thor. The culture clash was the most entertaining part of the movie and it only had 2 small scenes. Hawkeye being in this was amazing, though. Nice easter egg for nerds.

It truly felt like I just sat through this to get to the Avengers. Not for any other reason than Marvel Avengers brand affinity. If Captain America sucks I am not going to see the Avengers. Ironman would have been the only interesting character in the mix (and maybe Nick Fury in his limited capacity). Ironman was good (fuck the haters). Ironman 2 was mediocre/bad. Thor was competent but uninspired and boring. Hulk was kind of okay. The Abomination CG fest at the end kind of ruined it.

  5. I enjoyed it based on the performances and the production design, but boy howdy was it aimless and plotless.

I kept waiting for Loki to be Loki. Instead he was just sort of low key.

    Loki. LOWKEY. I get it.

  8. Saw this recently. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be beforehand, but that's about all I can say for it.

It does an okay job for what it sets to do I suppose, they got their rom-com bullshit in, but it makes for a lame and dull Thor movie. Which should never be the case.

Are kids even excited watching this movie? Are they going to want to leave the theater buying an action figure? I was more excited as a kid watching the 1966 Thor cartoons, I bet. In fact, I'd gladly watch them instead of this movie again.

At least they got one thing perfectly right calling this movie Thor instead of The Mighty Thor. There was nothing remotely mighty about it.

P.S. Seemed way too much of Ray Stevenson playing Volstagg instead of just Volstagg (and I don't even like the character). They should have gone with an unknown like they did with the other two in the Warriors Three and Sif.

  9. Yeah, 'cause Ray Stevenson is such a huge A-lister.

Yeah, I didn't mean to make him sound like he was.
