Thread: Official 2007 NFL Season Thread

  1. Philly is so up in the air that they could be one of those teams that pulls a 180 mid year and suddenly starts getting their act together. Which I am expecting.

I am also expecting to see the same thing from the Saints Monday. It's do or die for them if there's anytime they'll get their act together it's coming up.

  2. NFL related... sort of.

How about O.J., huh? That tape proves that he is the type of person capable of a violent crime *cough*.. murderer...

I hope he gets many years in the slammer.

  3. If anyone cares ... the latest rumor here ion PhillyVille is the Eagles are thinking of trading McNabb before the trade deadline.

I hope to christ they are wrong.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

  4. He should be the backup QB at least until the end of the year. If he can't regain his mobility and they can't create a remotely decent offensive line though he's not going to provide much.

But no just changing the QB is not the only thing they should look at in Philly, they really need to look at the coaching staff and the play calling first.

That would be stupid. He's only 9 months removed from surgery to his ACL, which takes 2 full years from which to fully recover.

If they trade him, whoever picks him up will most likely have a healther McNabb. He's absolutely incredible when he's healthy - right up there with Manning and Brady imo.

Any word on what the Eagles would get in return? I hope nothing less than a second-round pick.

Woah woah woah. That's good that you say in your opinion, but pardon me for saying so, but thats like saying in your opinion the sun revolves around the earth. The opinion is just plain wrong. McNabb has never been anything more than a walking injury waiting to happen. When he first started becoming a star and everyone started comparing him to Randle Cunningham, everyone magically forgot that Cunningham was a walking injury also. When he has been healthy he did in fact get his team to 4 NFC championships, but only won 1, and then lost his superbowl.

Manning and Brady on the other hand, have been models of healthiness. Both have clearly shown they can win the big game. So good though he might have been, the stated opinion is wrong.

Hold on there cowboy. Talk all the shit you want and pardon ME for saying so, but I don't give a shit what you think. I'm just talking about the statistics when he's healthy. Wasn't McNabb on pace to become the NFL's leading passer last year before his injury (260 yds/game & 18 TDs after 10 games)?

Granted the last time he played all 16 games was back in '03, but he's put up big numbers before his injuries. Look at his stats compared to Brady's and Manning's (Manning's being ridiculous and he's thrown for more yardage than Brady even with the injuries). They're comparible.

I'm not saying that McNabb IS Manning or Brady. All I'm saying is, he is right up there with those two when he's healthy - that's it. It's not like he's been injury-plagued his entire career. Only until recently has he been getting injured.

Didn't Manning have the exact same rep as a guy who could get his team to the playoffs but then choked up until, I dunno, last fucking Super Bowl?

And I had thought that one stupid, annoying sports cliche had finally died, but no, some people just ignore it and act like Manning was winning Super Bowls since his rookie season.

  9. I'd say there's a big difference between being Injury prone and Choking. Since you know, one is a physical thing and the other is a mental.

  10. New England is giving 16.5 to Buffalo this week. WHO 2 PICK???
