For the record, I have seen McNabb make some incredible plays, but he is not consistent or reliable, and that is a requirement for greatness.
I agree that McNabb and Brady are equal in terms of stats. They are both overrated, but Brady's defense won him rings, and McNabb's didn't, so Brady will get to ride that to Canton, and McNabb shouldn't.
To McNabb's credit, the passing game in Philly was asked to win games. The passing game in NE never was. Brady passes from play action after the run has been established or when he already knows what the defensive call is.
I still will submit that if I am trying to win one game, I don't even consider either one of these guys, unless I have a spectacular defense and just need a game manager. In that case, I'd consider Brady.

Wow, your powers know no bounds.
Manning didn't get to the Superbowl most years they were in the AFC Final because they didn't have a reliable kicker. No not every year. Yes he had to learn how to win. No I'm not saying the whole team didn't choke at one point or another. But the man has now won a ring. I'd say that eliminates any need to say he's a choker.
Yoshi hates McNabb because he's an Eagle. There is no point in arguing with him about any Eagle, Redskin or Giant player.
The difference is that one is a physical thing and the other is generally something invented by the media so they have something to talk about.
I know.
He was really starting to come on this season too.
lol what? No, it was their defense. They won the Super Bowl last year because the Colts defense (in the playoffs) finally matched their offense.
Jesus Christ, stop watching ESPN. It's rotting your brain.Yes he had to learn how to win.
Hello. Canadian, pleasure to meet you. I don't get ESPN. Or the Deuce. Or the Ocho.
Fine, you think Payton didn't have to learn what it took to win in the playoffs, that's cool. I disagree. Sometimes it's about learning how to lead a group of men who have experienced nothing BUT choking in the playoffs until they don't choke in the playoffs.
And all you guys saying its because they got a defense. Fine, but every playoff game I can remember the Colts playing in where they lost in a blowout, it was because their offense got stifled, then it got frustrated, then it started making mistakes like throwing interceptions. The Defense was forced to play from a short field, and was on the field more than it should have been. When the colts lost in a close game, it was usually because the liquored up kicker missed a kick.
Steve Young is an example of a QB who had to wait on a defense that was capable of stopping Brett Favre or Troy Aikman before he could win a Superbowl. Peyton Manning is a guy who just had to learn how to lead his team in the playoffs.
Sports cliches can eat a bowl of dicks.
Colts + defense + some luck (any team that wins the Super Bowl needs at least a little) = Lombardi Trophy.
Everything else is nonsense.
