Thread: Official Car Thread :: Vol 2 :: Now with More Bikes!

  1. The standard TSX rims are fine. If you want bigger ones you should go aftermarket anyway. My gf doesn't have nav, but that is about the only option it doesn't come with standard. She paid $25.5k for an 07 model in Dec 06, but there was some kind of dealer screw up involved so I'm not sure how easy it is to get a similiar deal.

    Use Edmunds.com to find the invoice price with the options you want and plan on paying a little more than that when trying to make price comparisons. Scion is supposedly no haggle, but for every other brand paying MSRP is lol. I don't care what options are on a TC, it's not worth $24k.

    I don't think insurance is that bad since the TSX is just a 4 door sedan. They charge you extra for coupes and anything with a turbo in it, but the TSX is pretty docile.

    My cousin also mentioned that the Acura rims in general are fine since she owns a TL. There isnt much major options to add to the TSX..so if I was to get it, it would just be the nav. I already emailed myself price range from edmunds (which she also suggested). So by next year, I'll be back with more decisions and choices.

    The new Euro Accord just debuted, and the US Acura TSX is just a rebadged (and luxuried up) everywhere-else Accord. I couldn't pay $34k for a 4 cylinder "Accord". There was a time when the TSX was reasonably priced, starting < 25k. Now it's pretty much 30k, and there are tons of cars I'd rather get for that kind of money.

    Thanks for the link. I guess once I see the US version I'll decide to get previous years or current.

    Any suggestions as to other cars in the $22-30k range (including optional stuff i.e. nav, sunroof, maybe rims) and must be sedan (tC is the only car that I would get that is 2 door). No American cars. I'm just not fond of them.

    EDIT
    2009 TSX

  4. You could probably get a nicely loaded Altima in that range. I'd get the coupe because it looks so much better but the 4 door is ok. A Civic Si sedan would be on the lower end of your budget and really fun to drive. You'd have money left over to asianize it.

    HAHA. Altima and Maxima were other options. I cant drive stick =(.

    Civics are alright, but too small for me. I thought about the Corolla Type S. I'll probably hit up the car show next month since they'll have 09's

  6. Corolla type S is a pretend sporty car, the Civic Si actually has credibility. The Corolla really doesn't hold up against the Si or Altima, it is a class below.

  7. So an auto-tranny sedan? Why bother forking extra for rims ^^;

    I doubt V6s would be up your alley since you want fuel economy, but I guess a TSX could make sense with what you want. The heavier US Accord w/smaller engines wouldn't be as good of a fit. As far as inline-4s, I'm told that Altimas are pretty torquey.

  8. I will be at the Cleveland Autoshow next Friday looking for deals there. Wish me luck. Supposedly you can get some fantastic deals.

  9. Cleveland autoshow = terrible. Just giving you the heads up.

  10. Don't they just display the new models at car shows? I've never heard of them selling anything there.
