Thread: Official Car Thread :: Vol 2 :: Now with More Bikes!

  1. In 6th gear the Renesis still spins at 4k rpms at 80mph. I could probably use a 7th :P

I hate that center speedo in the mini too. They need to make that thing optional.

Considering I live in NYC. Yes. But I hardly drive into the city. Parking is impossible. If I do, its to pass by or do a quick stop. Now that my street is starting to get crammed with more cars, its impossible to find parking or assholes taking up two spots.

I dont like small cars considering I feel cramped and I drive my family and grandparents around.

    2K here...

It's a combination of the giant center speedometer and the wretched HVAC buttons in the shape of the Mini wing logo. As soon as I was aware of that stuff, I crossed the Mini off my list of prospective buys.

  4. What's retarded is the convertible doesn't have any of that crap, it actually looks really nice. You also have the option of getting the nav or some additional gauges in the center speedo's place, and they move the speedo to an additional pod on the wheel where it should be. It looks way better this way. I have no idea why they gave the coupe and convertible different interiors.

I was playing with the mini builder on their site and the options add up fast. They are too expensive.

  5. i've been waiting for the Evo X MR to come out for the past 2 months, the release date for the MR is a bit hazy since Mitsubishi sucks ass....and I really can't wait much longer.

I'm looking hard at the R32...I'm not a big fan of the hatch look but all the reviews I have read have been positive, especially the interior. The interior does look nice. The R32 is only offered with the DSG and I actually prefer this as it will be my daily driver and the traffic in and around Philly is just awful, so the R32 is right there with the Evo, one big negative is that VW doesn't offer the R32 in black, what kind of faggot bullshit is that? How the fuck do you not offer your top of the line model in black? man what the fuck?

  6. Why an R32 over the standard GTI? There really aren't a whole lot of advantages, and it's a lot more $$$.

I prefer AWD, unless GTI has AWD, (then that means I didn't do my homework)

is 30k too much for the R32, in your opinion?

  8. It's FWD biased AWD, and it just makes the thing heavier. I think the R32 only has a slight edge in acceleration to 60 since the AWD saps more power, and the v6 isn't that much more powerful than the 2.0T. One of the best reasons to get the GTI is the 2.0T, which is an awesome engine (not that the v6 in the R32 is bad). That is a good price though. The Evo will kill it in speed and handling if that's what you're after.

  9. Reccomendations anyone?

Its getting to be time for a new car for me within the next few months, so Ive been looking around a bit. Since I am a girl who knows nothing about cars except for how cute they might be (how stereotypical!), I guess I could use a bit of help.

I really liked the Saturn Sky, but am not sure about it because of the limited space.

Next, I am in love with the new Camero, but havent heard anything about if they are any good (I guess because theyre not out yet) or how much they will be. And more importantly, will there be a convertable, and does it come in automatic?

So... Are these ok choices from a performance point of view (Im not going street racing or anything, but I would like something fairly good) and are there other cars I should concider?

I currently drive an suv and Im so ready for something smaller and cuter. And please no one say a Mustang because I dislike them greatly.

The R32 is definitely not my cup of tea. It's no faster than a WRX, which is about $10,000 less. I guess performance isn't really what the car is about, but at that point I'm wondering why it costs so damn much.

Sky is a great looking car with good performance, but indeed very low on space. I believe a Miata has more trunk space if that's a concern.

Camaro won't be out with a convertible for a while (the coupe won't be here for another year), but an automatic is certain. No one's tested the car, but it comes on a proven platform so it should be good, if not a bit on the big side.

But really, you should get a...

    ...Mustang.
