Oh my god not Carolla, I can't stand that guy.
Speaking of Top Gear, Adam Carolla said on his radio show he has been in contact with NBC about hosting an american version. He is a car guy and has some pretty cool ones. He's probably the best option out there. Pair him with some ex race driver and a good journalist and I think the show would come out good.

So yeah their financing screwed up when they did my car, the $400 off for being a college student has to be funded by GMAC as I said in the bugging me thread. lol my dad was talking to the GM of the store who called him and apparently the GM threatened to put a lean on the car.
We're in negotiations right now, as giving back the $400 or switching to GMAC will both cost me about the same (400 dollars) due to an extremely high rate. My dad said the only problem with your way of doing it Stormy is that their are signing fees and whatnot, so the amount saved would be minimal anyways.
Anyways they're working on reducing the 8.9% from GMAC to 7.9% which would mean like a 2 dollar increase per month, so not a huge deal there (versus the 7 or 8 now). It's a little annoying that like everything I buy some stupid shit has to happen.
But worst case if they don't negotiate it down for their screw up I have some options:
Return the car, and file a complaint with the BB.
Pay the $400 or take the GMAC financing, file with the BB, and File with the State attourney (Whatever it's called) as they will have pulled a Bait and Switch.
Or they lower the financing, and everyone is happy.
but lol @ the GM just outright saying "Well we can just put a lean on the car" what an idiot.
FYI: Lien.
Thank you.
I guess it would be awkward if he just came up and started leaning on my car.
This new thread title is great. Congrats on the bike Mark! I'll probably join the ranks once I move downtown.
I don't think they can actually enforce any of that on you Theif. It was their screw up and the dealership should cover it, everyone signed a contract with all the costs and terms set. I think they are just trying to scare you into giving them the money when you don't really have to, but I can't say for sure without reading the contract. Maybe a TNL lawyer can chip in.
Remember: Dealers always lie. Did you talk directly to GMAC financing? Don't take the finance man at the dealership at his word.
The good news is you could use this to get rid of the crappy G5 and go grab a Mazda3 :P
I love my G5.
Also supposedly Chase is the one who rejected my financing because of the deal, which seemed a bit suspicious to me, as why would they care what the rebates behind the financing was.
Weren't you pre-approved? Call Chase right now and and ask them what's up. Who is charging you signing fees for the loan? I didn't have any fees related to taking out the loan, they make their money on the interest. If the dealer is charging you that it's a BS fee.
Enjoy your car. Dealerships do their best to take the excitement and fun out of a new car with their bullshit. I love my car, but I had buyers remorse for a day or two just because dealing with assholes like that is stressful.
