Electric motors have torque on demand, so they can be quick as hell, but I really don't think we have yet figures out the battery problem. Lithium-ions have all sorts of durability issues.
Not to mention they are heavy and take up a large amount of space.
I priced out a Tesla Roadster ... mine would be $106,575, includes tax and destination charges. Anyone wanna loan me that?
