24 Season 7

Parts of it are very good, like the main story threads. There is a good story in the middle of it all, but they're really, really going way overboard with the whole bad things are happening to these people thing. It just doesn't fucking stop; I think my eyes almost fell out of my head from all the rolling they were doing, ESPECIALLY with the dumb shit the mother and daughter go through.

Most of it is really dumb and aggravates legitimate suspense into just being retarded, like when the cop pulls over the wife and the fake York guy, the whole amnesia thing that lasted about an hour and was BEYOND retarded, the daughter getting out of one mess and into the drug deal, then the dude is an undercover cop, then every single terrorist they almost capture dies in some stupid way, holy shit. Fucking kill me.

Did you guys watch the same shit as me, or is there a less crappier version that lasts maybe 6 hours and tells the same story, only for non ADD people?

If I wasn't still home for the holidays and hadn't made watching this like a project with my mother I wouldn't bother to watch the remaining 5 hours. Maybe the ending is so good that people forgive all the dumb filler shit that's been taking place for most of the season. Maybe watching it with episodes separated by weekly intervals kinda buffers it all and makes it more palatable. I don't know, it just feels really really exaggerated and dumb to me.

Plus like 200 people have died already. This is like anime-level bad, but it usually takes them until they've caught up with the manga to shit out filler episodes. 24 started off right away.

PS - my mother has fallen asleep watching this countless times, and I'm up to three so far. I think we're more stubborn than anything else to keep this going.

OK, here goes: The mother is out with a terrorist pretending to be a father, gets pulled over and almost arrested, kidnapped, raped, ruptures a cyst, finds out she's pregnant (and here I really hope it's not Jack's just to add to it), finds out her husband fucked Nina while they were separated, acts like a complete dumbass bitch, barely gets away while some super fucking terrorist kills about 30 special agents to get in the safe house where she's being kept, parks her car too close to a cliff and watches it roll off a tiny drop and then inexplicably explode presumably killing her daughter, passes out and comes to with amnesia, hitchhikes, happens to pass a familiar restaurant, gets picked up by a doctor friend she was seeing, and is almost killed in her home before that CTU dude deus ex machinas her out of it. All within the same day, so far. There are still a few hours during which she can still get abducted by aliens, get cancer, and hopefully mutate into a ninja turtle.

Drama is drama, suspense is suspense, but this fucking overkill is ridiculous and eventually numbs you. I could care less for these characters.

everything Mzo bitched about just made the show even better Well except for the amnesia thing anyways.

We watch it for Jack Bauer to lay smackdown on baddies and he delivers.

Yeah, I just don't understand his complaints. I think he's bitter at the lack of underage girls, because that seems like the only legitimate complaint he could have.

The coolest parts so far have been when Jack kidnapped that dude in the limo and beat the shit out of him and the Alan York fake. After that he hasn't really done anything too awesome or exciting this season yet, maybe there's some cool shit coming up. The Senator is awesome and watching him sink deeper and deeper into his family shit is good. He just had that press conference and laid it all out, he would totally get my vote. That Carl dude and the rich people make for good bad guys.

Jack's wife should die in hell along with his daughter. I think I like everything about the show except for the things that happen to his wife and daughter.

My complaint is that it's way too over the top. It's even worse than freaking spanish soap operas. Maybe being really over the top is the whole point and I'm coming at this all wrong, but I was expecting some badass, somewhat realistic terrorist story and I'm getting crazy wtf else can we dump into this show lawl story.

Seems weird to me that no one else sees where I'm coming from. Like I said, maybe the last 5 episodes get better and maybe the second season is more badass and less ridiculous but who knows.
