Thread: 24 Season 7

  1. My favorite scene from season 7, the writers strike is starting to impact the story however!

    Spoilers!

I'd rather see George Mason back. At least his contact with that radioactive material guarantees some sort of amazing super power.

George Mason died as a heroic born-again hippie, Zombie Mason would just smoke bowls, listen to Grateful Dead records, and reconnect with his son on fishing trips. Zombie Chapelle would be a bitter motherfucker.

Zombie Mason would be beyond recognition. At least Zombie Chapelle would only have a gunshot wound.

Season 1 ended and Jack never did anything particularly cool.

I assume he becomes a badass and does awesome things from Season 2 on.

Good thing the wife is dead, she was some sort of lightning rod for fucking horrible disasters if that one day is any judge.

I also didn't really like the whole Scooby Doo Nina explanation. They show you that she killed Jayme which makes sense, but they don't say why Ian would tell Jack to kill Nina and lose their best mole ever in the CTU at the start, or why she was so concerned about the fake FBI dude in the hospital who she should've either known or not cared about or even fucking helped to kill Jack's wife and daughter.

PS - by Scooby Doo explanation, I mean how they tell you at the end that the witch wasn't a real witch because she disappeared through a trap door, but never tell you how she flew around outside and shit and did a whole lot of other magic crap.

  6. Clearly, all that Anime has corrupted your mind.

24 is an old-fashioned serial with much ass kicking. Jack Bauer > Batman.

It's sort of written as a series of flow-charts. Bauer ---> Situation ---> Compromise? ---> No!---> Kick Ass.

It's TV, don't read so much into it.

You must be thinking of somebody else, I hate anime. I was impressed by the blood, gore, and tits when I was in high school but thankfully I developed some taste and grew out of it.

Senator Palmer was 100x the character that Jack Bauer was in Season 1 and ended up being the real star of the show for me. Honestly though, tell me what Jack Bauer did that was awesome in Season 1. He drove a van through a harbor building and shot two old men in a firefight in which he could just as easily have died. He did something stupid and was lucky to come out alive.

If Palmer's somehow not the President come Season 2 I will not be very happy.

  8. Besides being a stone-cold bad ass? What are you looking for in a TV show exactly?

  9. Friends imo.

I kept hearing how awesome the show was and what a badass Jack was, but the show I saw had some ridiculous situations that made me roll my eyes more than care about what happened next and a Jack Bauer who really didn't do an awful lot to make me think he was a badass. Like I said, maybe it all happens in Season 2 but so far he's basically a non-character to me (along with his family). Hell, Teri's death was a non-event since they've just spent 23 other episodes desensitizing you to anything that might happen to her by piling on so much unbeliavable crap it breaks the suspension of disbelief.

Like I said, Senator Palmer was pretty badass and seeing him dump his wife at the end was pretty awesome. If I were to put even an ounce of thought into the situation I might find it weird that he's been married to his GRADE SCHOOL sweetheart for a shit ton of years, must practically know her inside and out after all that time, and somehow she's been hiding her ambition and selfishness until this one particular day when it all comes out one event after the next and he decides to divorce her.

How is he better than Batman? If I saw him get into like, a fight or do one cool thing other than get captured and yell a lot into a phone I might care. Like I said, maybe in Season 2.
