it's not the best game ever probably simply because it's not as much of a leap in any direction as a game like mario 64 was in its time. It's simply super, super, super excellent, but we've played games similar to it before, just not executed anywhere near as well.

In reality it may be the greatest horror/action fps ever made, but it doesn't seem that way because it's not the same kind of huge leap as a game like ocarina was (for most console gamers)

Eh, you know, as great as those games were at the time, does a game deserve the 'best game ever' moniker if it doesn't hold up to that same scrutiny (obvectively) years later? Mario 64 and OoT look like butt and have pretty janky controls nowadays. It's like saying King Kong (the 30's version) had the best special effects ever because it was the biggest step forward.

I'm running it in XP 2 compatibility mode as an administrator. It's booted successfully last four times I've tried, but the sound is choppy in places, especially whenever a Big Daddy appears.
