Thread: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet

  1. I'm down for sure.

  2. Looks like a cross between Solar Jetman and Loco Roco. I also got a chuckle out of the featured band in the game.

  3. I love me Michel Gagne and Iron Giant. The animation and art style look way better than other DLC games touted as looking awesome. Castle Crashers and Behemoth have nothing on the quality of animation or solid unified art style.

That said, it could still be a terrible game.

I think there's enough solid gameplay conveyed here to guarantee it won't be a terrible game unless there's some kind of gross input lag or something.

Also, it does look pretty likely this will hit XBLA. Pretty recently posted on the dev blog was:
The presentation with Microsoft on Thursday went extremely well.

We all worked our butts off to give them an eye full and without sounding pretentious, I must say that we really delivered.

  5. It looks really, really good. XBLA could use more games like this.

While I like the look of this, what XBL Arcade needs more of is Arcade games. Fuck independent stuff until I get a home port of stuff like Xexex and (thanks to Frogacuda) Gun Force II.

  7. Arcade needs less policing of what the fuck goes on it period, imo. Knock it the fuck off with the control freak stuff, MS. It's a digital marketplace, the shelf space is infinite. You don't need sit there and hand pick a fraction of the games for approval and then make them wait 8 months to get scheduled.

Good point. This continues to be hard for me to type, but Apple got it right with the AppStore.

I'm all for some control, otherwise you end up with the wasteland that is Community Games. Microsoft is way overdoing the micromanaging, though. It makes me wish the PS3 was doing better so PSN would be a viable competitor.
