Lol, fucking awesome. Tried it out. Can't confirm everything works, but every effect I could identify off the top of my head (the really amazing occluded parallax mapping, really nice volumetric lighting, nice 3D waves...) does. It seems like they gimped the DX9 options to make the differences with DX10 appear greater, although I can't imagine why.
It really seems like all the effects they pointed out as being DX10 effects do work in DX9. Game looks gorgeous. My Vista install got mucked up, but now I'm not going to even bother reinstalling any time soon. I can't tell the difference between this and when I was running in real DX10 before.

I had to tone down the shadows to get it running at a decent rate, but playing the thing full out with all the effects is super wow amazing stuff. Makes Gears of War look like a toothless skank at a truck stop.

The game seemed to run at 20 - 30 fps on my computer, with low settings. My system specs aren't the greatest though. P4 3.0, Radeon 9700 128MB, 1GB RAM. All running on Vista. For some odd reason it still looks pretty decent. Not hi res, but I can't complain.
All in all it seems like it should be a good game. I really hate that it takes forever to kill the Koreans though.

Does everybody realize that being in Strength mode makes you way more accurate?
I didn't know that for a while, and it seemed to take forever to take enemies down, but with strength I can get pistol headshots at good distances.

Thanks for the tip, I did not know that. I don't think the game gave any indication of this, did it?
