It depends on the game. 2D games, if the art is decent, still look decent. Games that deliberately use angular objects, such as the Wipeout series, also still look somewhat decent (though WO1's popup is a little jarring in this day and age).

Might be in the minority but I'm a fan of Dynastic Hero, it's Basically WonderBoy Genesis with less vivid graphics but a great soundtrack and cute character redesigns. *-neo
