You run, you gun. I'd say it fits the mold overall. It's a lot closer to Contra in gameplay than it is to a shooter like Blazing Lasers or Soldier Blade, neither of which are even horizontal.

I would say it fits the run 'n gun genre. Not everything in that genre is a Contra clone.

Have you played Contra 4 yet? I was reading a GI mag in EWR and they were gushing over it more than the TNLers were.
