It wasn't horrible. It was just your typical flashy, pretty, vapid, soulless, humorless action flick with some slightly better than average production design. The worst parts were when they were trying to copy the original movie, because it just fell totally flat each time. When they weren't, the movie was okay, I guess. The original was a million times better, rendering this remake totally pointless...more so than most remakes going around these days.
Oh, and I will say that the new Cohaagen doesn’t hold a candle to the great Ronnie Cox. There’s also no “I’ll be back home in time for corn flakes” line in the remake either, which is unforgivable.
Also: Colin Farrell is no Arnold, but that goes without saying. The Underworld chick wasn't bad, however. They basically combined Sharon Stone and Michael Ironside's characters into her, and she did a pretty decent job of being a hot bad-ass. Jessica Biel was hot, but that was it for her.

Gymkata: I mean look at da lil playah woblin his way into our hearts in the sig awwwwwww
Did Colin come across as more of an everyman like in the original story?
Not really...aside from the smaller muscles and a total lack of humor in his performance, there really wasn't much of a difference between how Colin was portrayed from Arnold. I never read the original story, but I was under the impression that Quaid was supposed to be more of a Woody Allen type...someone you'd never expect to be a secret agent.
