I remember seeing an import Soul Calibur running at EB and not being too impressed. I thought the backgrounds looked really flat. To this day it is my favorite fighter.
MDK2 was an amazing looking game as well...that's what bugs me the most. I don't think we got to see what the DC could REALLY do. Given another year or two we would have seen some amazing work on that machine.
Anyway, back to the Gunstar Heros thing from a few pages back, yes, I agree that it looks good, but at the same time I attribute that to artistic creativity and character design, not hardware milking. Very different than Batman and Robin where the hardware is standing on its head to fake 2.5D.
I gotta agree with Conker on the 64. That speech was way too good, and there was way to much of it for me to belive it was coming from a cart. Not only that, the rest of the sound didn't suffer (it was great, actually) and the game looked great as well.
