When a game is described as a chess match, I assume it's referring to the strategy, not the level of contact allowed.

Christ. How the hell does the puck roll down the netting and come out front without hitting the post? And why don't the Devils get bounces that defy the laws of physics?

The Rangers had OH-I-DON'T-KNOW-HOW-MANY bad bounces, posts, mysterious caroms off the boards, etc... in the first 10 games.
