Tonight I finally tried out making my own hummus. Followed a recipe that attempts to copy Bobbi's Best Hummus (local from philly, the best store bought hummus i've ever had). Upon initial tasting, it is delciously garlicky. I used my amazing immersion blender for the whole thing too, since I lack a food processor at the moment, and it worked flawlessly. Also added some roasted red peppers... because I could.

Tomorrow I am going to make a pan-fried steak with a red wine pan sauce, mashed potatoes, carrots and a side salad. I also want to try a recipe for bananna muffins with marscapone cream cheese icing. My mom sent me a bad-ass chrome Kitchen Aid mixer and I need to break it in.
jesus christ, that sounds awesome.
BTW this reminds me, I need a mixer and I need to take something out of the freezer for it to defrost.

I made some jello shots that look like orange slices for a party:
They are easy:
1 pkg orange jello
three oranges
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup vodka
Cut the oranges in half and scoop out the insides. Add the boiling water to the jello in a large bowl and stir until dissolved. Add vodka and continue stirring. Pour jello into a measuring cup and pour into orange halves. Chill until firm, about 3-4 hours. Cut into wedges. This was my first attempt, next time I will make them neater looking.
I made for dinner tonight:
2 Lamb Chops with rosemary and thyme
a side of Parmesan Cheese Pasta
and peas
