The second game was significantly better in every way.
The shame is they keep making these stupid portable versions instead of the epic third installment they were fucking hinting at over half a decade ago.
I was done with Kingdom Hearts after the first one. It was a cute and bizarre little one-off, but there's nothing there worth more than that first game.

Second one had better gameplay but also was terrible due to how brooding and Serious Business it had to be. Plus all the bullshit over-complication of story (you know, because if a story is too hard to understand without a wiki, it MUST be good).
Makes me wonder if Birth by Sleep is the same flavor of disappointment.
You couldn't understand the story of Kingdom Hearts II without a wiki?
Dude, I had a conversation with my sister when she finished the game at age twelve and she got every single detail first play through.
I got the story of the first two, but fuck playing these portable versions, and Re: Chain of Memories.
I'll play 3 and wiki the others.
It's inexplicable, since Disney sucks and Square sucks, but these games somehow always draw my attention. And everything is better in 3D.
BBS was great and totally worth playing, it surprised me after the previous portable games. 358/2 was okay, I'll go back and finish it one day. Re:Coded was one of the most useless games ever made, it doesn't even need to be wikied.
3D looks like it will be more BBS and less 358/2, so I'm in for this.
What is this, I don't even.
Everybody change your passwords, Yoshi has been compromised.
Let's be fair about the KHII story: it required you to have played a silly Game Boy Advance game to understand even remotely some of the larger plot points, namely what the hell is up with Riku. I kind of hate bullshit like that honestly.
