In one of the many Terminator comic stories, the Terminators that came back through time also brought humans back with them. On arrival, they ripped future weapons out of them. Neat stuff.
Sending.... a cow.

I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.

Let me bring up another question. How is it they have the ability to send terminators back in time, yet they didn't even bother with sending an army for total takeover? Seriously if you want to make sure your future is secure, I don't think 1 is going to do the job when history tells you there was someone there to take it out.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"
Maybe the technology, situation and resource requirements only allowed 3 bots to be sent but why couldn't they send all 3 to the same exact time?!
The future is not set- there's no fate but what we make for ourselves. Noob.
Besides, if Skynet sends back an army to take over, said army might put into motion a chain of events that could prevent the creation of Skynet itself, therefore creating a paradox. If Skynet didn't exist, then it couldn't have sent back the army, but it did, and so on. I mean, look what happened when Skynet sent back the original Terminator- just like John Connor did with Kyle Reese, Skynet sent back a warrior that ended up becoming it's father (it's CPU was recovered by Cyberdyne and used to create Skynet).
