Nintendo doesn't even appear to be trying these days. And, unfortunately, they're rewarded for it due to the casual gaming demographic having grown so enormously large. You really can't fault them for making easy money but it's obviously gone to an extreme for many of us gamers who take the hobby seriously. There certainly is a "gaming bliss" that arrives when playing that (near) perfect Nintendo title but I'm not sure we're ever going to see that kind of commitment from them again. And, even if we do, it'll be few and far between.
